The
Warsaw Charitable Society is a
charity established in 1997. It has the status of a public benefit organization
and was founded on the initiative of a group of friends and acquaintances
living in Warsaw, who deeply cared for people within the local communities,
regardless of their profession, age and material status. As a public benefit
organization, we undertake and support activities aimed at the development of
the capital city of Warsaw and its residents.
We
initiate business creativity, support economic initiatives, as well as work for
the development of education of children and the youth. We organize regular meetings and events, in which we strive to raise
social awareness of Warsaw residents and communities by shaping interpersonal
relations, encouraging solidarity and kindness. We cooperate in every respect with state
and local government administration bodies, as well as with many
non-governmental organizations.
Since
2001, the Society has organized the Warsaw Charitable Ball. All funds collected
are donated towards the realization of the statutory aims of the Society. This support enabled us, in cooperation with the Education Departments
in council offices in Warsaw districts, to carry out an original scholarship
project and finance foreign language courses for children shortlisted by local
authorities.
We have already funded several hundred language scholarships over the period of four years. The annual gala is very popular and has become a permanent fixture in the calendar of Warsaw events as an outstanding carnival event.
We would also like to inform you that the Promotional Emblem Foundation Teraz Polska is a partner of the annual Charity Gala of the Friends of Warsaw Ball.
